We are very proud and excited to announce the Alcon LenSx ® laser for cataract surgery. This breakthrough technology is the very latest treatment for precise Femtosecond laser-assisted surgery. By adding computer control to key steps of cataract surgery, the LenSx® laser helps ensure the highest-precision surgical incisions. This laser is unquestionably the most technologically advanced option for cataract patients.
Individuals who suffer from nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism no longer have to be burdened by glasses and contact lenses. Thanks to LASIK eye surgery, each of these conditions can now be effectively eliminated or reduced. With the additional development of advanced LASIK vision correction technology such as the ALLEGRETTO WAVE™ Laser, patients are now more likely than ever to achieve 20/20 vision, or even better.
At Grosinger, Spigelman & Grey our ophthalmologists are committed to providing residents in and around Birmingham and Troy with LASIK surgery of unsurpassed quality. Through their extensive experience and dedication to exceptional patient care, our doctors have established themselves as Michigan’s leading eye care physicians. Current FDA Studies
Clinical Research Study for Patients with Cataracts
Grosinger, Spigelman and Grey Eye Surgeons is participating in a research study (sponsored by a major intraocular lens manufacturing company) to collect data supporting the effectiveness of an investigational intraocular lens compared to an approved, marketed intraocular lens. “Investigational” means that the device being tested has not been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The study involves the surgical implantation of an intraocular lens into both eyes and approximately 7 follow-up visits for up to 6 months after surgery. The investigational lens is designed to provide both intermediate (arms length) and far vision and may reduce your need for glasses. The approved, marketed intraocular lens is routinely used in many offices for cataract surgery. For more information, please call... (248) 333-2900
Are you planning on having cataract surgery?
WE HAVE OPENINGS TO EVALUATE A NEW INVESTIGATIONAL INTRAOCULAR LENS DESIGNED TO REDUCE ASTIGMATISM AFTER CATARACT SURGERY
If you have astigmatism and need cataract surgery, you may be eligible to participate in a research study to evaluate an investigational intraocular lens.
This study requires a preliminary visit to confirm study eligibility prior to cataract surgery, and 5 follow-up visits to the doctor's office in the 12 months after you cataract is removed, for a total of 6 visits.
Eligible subjects must be at least 50 years or age and have a cataract in at least one eye, with no history of other significant diseases of the eye. Additionally, they must be in good health and be able to achieve at least 20/30 vision after surgery in the study eye.
If you believe you are qualified, and are interested in participating in this study, please call Amy Kesteloot, Study Coordinator at (248) 333-2900 to schedule a cataract evaluation exam.
