Eye floaters (moving spots or cobwebs) and flashes of light occur when the gel-like vitreous humor pulls on or detaches from the retina, known as a Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD).
Urgent Warning: Retinal Emergency Alert
A sudden increase in floaters, bright flashes of light, or a dark shadow/curtain moving across your field of vision indicates a potential Retinal Tear or Retinal Detachment. This requires immediate medical attention.
