LASIK Cataract Surgery
Conventional cataract surgery is highly reliant on the skill and experience of the eye surgeon. A lance is used to make an incision in the eye region between the sclera and cornea so that the eye surgeon may fragment and eradicate the cataract at the back of the pupil. The ophthalmologist then uses an intraocular lens (IOL) to take the place of the murky natural lens.
With LASIK Cataract Surgery, the eye surgeon creates an accurate surgical plan with a 3-D picture of the eye. This allows for the incision to be exact in location, deepness, and length. Through the 3D image and laser, the incision can be executed precisely which reduces risk of error, infection and complications. Many studies have been completed that have proved and concluded that this procedure works more effectively with LASIK. The IOL is better centered under this procedure which is an important determinant for final visual results.
